PrePayment

Pre-Payment Options

Parents:

Our café lines are cashless! This means that our cashiers will no longer be accepting cash for a la carte purchases or for lunches at the secondary schools. This has several advantages including speeding up service at meal time. We encourage parents to make payments using mySchoolBucks.com using a credit or debit card.

There is no fee to parents for paying online.

Online payments are a simple, safe and secure way to make payments to your students account 24 hours a day at your convenience.

Parents may also send prepayments to the school in advance in an envelope marked with the student's name, student ID number, and amount of payment. The payment should be given to the food and nutrtion manager in the cafeteria. A sample envelope may be printed from this website below. Money will not be accepted at time of service.

Please take advantage of the options to prepay your student's meal accounts. Prepaid meal accounts help the lunch lines go faster and gives students more time to eat, relax, and play. It also gives you the peace of mind of not having to worry about looking for lunch money every day or worry that it might get lost, stolen or used for other things other than lunch.

Student Meal Account

The School City of Hammond uses a POS (point of sale) computer system instead of cash registers for student meal accounts. Parents may pre-pay money into the student meal account at any time and in any amount by cash, check (made payable to the school), cashiers check, or money order. Pre-payment deposits into the meal account reduce waiting time in line since the student and cashier will not need to exchange money at the time a meal is purchased.

The student uses a bar coded card (or numeric keypad) to access the meal account. The account automatically deducts the cost of the meal from the account. If your child receives free or reduced price meals, the computer will automatically know, but this information is confidential, so nobody else will know.

The computer knows meal purchases on any given day. If you want to know when deposits were made into the account or when meals were purchased, the school foodservice manager will be able to tell you that by printing a transaction history of the student meal account.
